I haven't done a hair recap in almost three months, so I'll quickly run thru the styles I've been trying out.
MAY
1.) I reverted back to my old standby, the puff, shingled, and decked out with headbands. Shingling tutorial is {{here}}.

2.) I also tried my hand with a flat twist (which I'm completely handicapped at doing, but it came out surprisingly well). In the back I did a twistout. It was one of those "purposely sloppy" casual styles.

3.) I did a regular twistout, pulled back into a puff with a bang left out. Twistout tutorial is {{here}}.

4.) Here's another twistout that I pulled back on the sides to create a "conservative frohawk". Curly frohawk tutorial is {{here}}.

JUNE
1.) I decided it was time to step my game up and try a little something different this month. My twistouts are usually pulled back, or really well defined but limp-looking. I decided I was going to separate the heck outta my twists to make a fuller-bodied afro, and it was gorgeous! Peep this:

2. One night, I had a party I was going to, was feeling really inspired by Janelle Monae, and was determined to pull off her infamous bouffant/pompadour. Bouffant tutorial is {{here}}.

I loved it so much that I recreated it for a fashion show I walked in.

PROBLEMS/TREATMENTS
This month I noticed that my edges had thinned tremendously. This was a DIRECT RESULT of brushing the hair extensions that I had in last month. Everytime I brushed, I felt it tugging at my edges, but I had no clue I was doing so much damage. Check it out. =(

As a result, I did a treatment with Bentonite Clay which left my hair feeling stronger and softer. Hopefully with care, the edges will return.
