{Product Review} Four New Product Reviews!!

I have some new product reviews for you ladies!!!

MoroccanOil Oil Treatment

The Good: Everything!!! Particularly the smell is ahh-mazing. I'm very sensitive to scents that smell too "chemical-y" or strong. This oil has a very pleasant soft scent to it that leaves my hair smelling angelic. After application, I don't feel "greasy-headed" or weighed down. Hair is still light and bouncy, but is butter soft and silky. The MAJOR benefit for me is that it leaves my hair feeling stronger! I experienced virtually no breakage the week that I applied this to my hair.

The Bad: The price isn't great. It's really expensive in my opinion, and I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that it's the latest "hot product" being promoted by celebrities and media. I'm willing to pay for it though, it definitely lives up to it's cost *sigh*.

The Ugly: Ain't nothin' ugly about this product hunni. If you can afford it, buy a tiny-sized bottle and try it out for yourself. I'm a huge fan!

Dr. Bronner's Castille Soap

The Good: This product is really inexpensive, and it's packed full of natural ingredients. When I read the list initially, I was concerned that it would leave my hair oily because of the large variety of oils on there. My hair felt LITERALLY SQUEAKY  clean after washing with this, and it didn't leave my hair feeling crisp or dry afterwards. It comes in a number of scents to try. I got the Rose scent which didn't really smell like roses to me, but was pleasant enough to tolerate. I think I'll be trying Lavender next!

The Bad: It took me some time to get used to using sulfate-free shampoos which tend not to foam up as much. Surprisingly, this soap foamed right up despite the claim to have no foaming agents. This normally would be on the "good" list for me, but this thing foamed up a little toooooo well. The first time I used it, I guess I didn't rinse thoroughly enough. Even after rinsing, conditioning, and doing my after-wash regimen, my hair would foam back up every time I added a water-based product to my hair. The second time I used it, I rinsed super-well and didn't have this problem.

The Ugly: This soap/shampoo is very runny. It has the consistency of water, and is meant to be diluted even further for use. I used it straight out of the bottle, and the smallest trickle of product would escape from my hair, get into my eyes, and burn the living hell out of them. It is VERY painful in the eyes, and it's VERY easy for this product to drip there, so be careful with it.

Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner

The Good: The ingredients list on this product is great. I don't have a stitch of guilt when I use this conditioner.

The Bad: Naturals rave about this product, but for me, it was just another average conditioner. I see nothing dazzling or special about the effects of it. Luckily, it's affordable enough to just use for no special reason.

The Ugly: It stinks to me. It's supposed to smell like roses, but the scent is so harsh and unnatural that I really try to rinse so I don't end up carrying that smell over into the next day. It has a very chemical or "fake" smell. It's kind of like the difference in flavor between real watermelon juice and watermelon flavored koolaid. No thankies.

Garnier Fructis Curl Shaping Spray Gel

The Good: All Garnier Fructis products smell great to me. This one was no different. I picked it up because I was looking for a light gel that would allow my twist outs to stand a chance against the humidity but would still leave my hair soft to the touch. This product does just that. I applied it to my hair while wet, and did my twistout as normal. In the morning, there was definitely a stronger curl definition, and when I separated the pieces, they held up much better against frizz.

The Bad: I was hoping this gel could replace my current super heavy brown protein gel. No such luck. When it comes to "defining curls", this product does not do that for my hair. It definitely is just for curl construction and maintenance.

The Ugly: This gel is not even strong enough to keep my edges tamed all day. I'm not sure why this is, but I was really disappointed by that. Perhaps you gals with type 3 or 4a hair around the edges could benefit from this product. I ended up giving this product four stars despite it's lack of versatility for my hair because it improved my twistout. I'm still on the hunt for a gel that will do it all though!
