Name: Ria Stuart (SumKindaWndrful on Twitter and {{Youtube}})Hair Type: 3b/4a mixed
Last Relaxer: June 2003
Big Chop: June 2005
Treatment Done To Hair: Twistout on Flexi Rods (Foam perm rods 10")
Q: How long have you been natural?
A: 4 plus years. Prior to my big chop, I actually had loc'd my hair
despite having relaxed ends.
Q: What is the thing you love most about your hair?
A: It's so me. It's full of life and versatile and healthy and soft. I
love to touch it. It's often a conversation starter with all sorts of
people. Most recently, it served as the inspiration for my thesis!
Q: What is the thing you hate most about your hair?
A: Not a thing!

Q: What made you decide to go natural (if you transitioned)?
A: I never really thought about it. I had combed out some locs in June
2005, had no clue what to do with all the hair that had been hidden in
my locs so I relaxed it. After that, I just never bothered to get one
again.
Q: How does having natural hair influence your life?
A: In undergrad 2001-2005, I was ostracized by some and embraced by
others. Once I got into actually learning how to love and care for my
hair around 2004, it made me want to be natural in everything I do. I
became a vegetarian, married a personal trainer, and do yoga. It was
the beginning of finding balance in my life.
